The Canadian Crossing includes the 600 ft. continuous Warren Truss span connecting Hill Island to Constance Island. A steel arch of 348 ft. spans from Constance Island to Georgina Island. A suspension bridge of 750 ft. from Georgina Island to the Canadian mainland (Ontario) with the suspension span providing 120 ft. of underclearance above the river. The Canadian span from abutment to abutment is 3,330 ft. The 1000 Islands Bridge at Ivy Lea Ontario is one of the busiest international crossings between the U.S. and Canada, creating hundreds of thousands of local, regional, and international jobs in the U.S. and Canada. It is the key link in connecting both countries’ Capitals - Ottawa, Canada and Washington, D.C., U.S. This high-speed highway corridor, the Capital Corridor, which connects both of the Capitals also includes the Highway 401 connections to the cities of Toronto and Montreal, Canada. The 565-mile Capital-to-Capital route provides one of the least congested and fastest routes between Eastern Ontario and Quebec, Canada and the U.S. Mid Atlantic and southern States.
