Actress & Teddy Bears by AsTimeGoesBy
A vintage promotional photograph (c. 1890s) of stage actress, Anna Held, born in Poland but immigrated to France with her family as a child. She married and had a daughter with a Uruguayan playboy, but later met Florenz Ziegfeld in London while she was on tour. They left France for New York City where she became very wealthy from her Broadway stage appearances. She became Ziegfeld's common law wife, and helped him start the Ziegfeld Follies in 1907. Two years later, Ziegfeld began two separate affairs, one of the women eventually becoming his legal wife. After Held's death, he was criticised in the press for his treatment of her and for not attending her funeral. Card is blank inside for your handwritten message.
