African Daisy Postage by taiche

Osteospermum plants originate from South Africa and the name is derived from the Greek osteon (= bone) and Latin spermum (= seed). Osteospermums belong to the daisy family ( Compositae / Asteraceae), hence their common names: African Daisy or South African Daisy, Cape Daisy and Blue-eyed Daisy.
A birth flower is a flower symbol for the month of someone's birth. There is a birth flower or two that represent every month in which a person was born. They are also called birth month flower. It is a special and personalized gift to send birth flowers for someone's birthday.
The common daisy is associated with April. Please see my section for US Birth Flowers
The modest, unassuming beauty of the daisy has a playful, childlike character that brings joy and happiness wherever it arrives. The many colored options of the daisy provide ample opportunity to match this lovely flower to a specific personality. No other flower can match the daisy for pure joy. The daisy signifies innocence, I'll never tell, purity, love that conquers all. The daisy is also associated with the fifth wedding anniversary
