Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. Who can believe that there is no soul behind those luminous eyes! If I have any beliefs about immortality it is that certain animals will go to heaven, and very very few people. I feel that we can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.
