This darling orangutan orphan opens her eyes after a nap when I entered the wildlife sanctuary nursery and take her picture on the island of Borneo - Kalimantan, the Indonesian side.

The nursery is filled with baskets, each containing an orangutan orphan whose mother has been killed.

Because orangutans are so gentle, some people mistakenly want them as a pet. Captivity is no life for these strong, athletic animals.
