Not exactly always green, this amazing almost ethereal looking green anemone was in a tide pool on the shores of La Jolla, California. The phosphorescence is apparent in the centre. From so close, I was able to see that each “stripe” radiating out from the centre leads to one of the tentacles. This anemone suckied on my fingers a couple times. Our skin is too thick to feel the anemone's sting, but we can definitely feel the sticky!
