Andrew Jackson, nicknamed "Old Hickory", was the U.S. President from 1829-1837. A colourful character, he even duelled and killed a man, to defend the honour of his wife Rachel. He was a veteran of the Revolutionary War and became widely known in 1815, after chasing the British out of New Orleans, where this monument can still be seen. Original photograph of mine decorates this coffee mug which would be a perfect gift for a history teacher, professor, or anyone who loves history.
