Philipp Eckebrecht: Noua orbis terrarum delineatio singulari ratione accommodata meridiano tabb, Rudolphi astronomicarum. Designed for the astronomer Johannes Kepler, this map is one of the earliest to portray the northwestern coast of Australia. Intended for use with Kepler's Tabulae Rudolphinae (a set of tables that described the positions of the planets and included star charts of Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe). The prime meridian (always left ot the discretion of the mapmaker in those days) runs through Brahe's observatory in Sweden. The emblem of the double-headed eagle represents the Holy Roman Empire.
