The Arabian horse is the world’s oldest breed and is said to have been created by God from the south wind, enabling him to fly without wings. According to legend, Ishmael, the son of Abraham, was the first to tame and ride the Arabian horse. These relatively small horses, which usually stand between 14 and 15 hands and weigh between 800 and 1,000 pounds as adults, are known for being affectionate and bonding well with humans.
