Art Nouveau: New York Sun by Rhead Round Stickers by VintageCabaret

The image "The New York Sun" (detail shown here) was created as an advertising poster by artist and illustrator Louis Rhead in 1895. This poster was part of the "Maitres de L"Affiche" (Masters of the Poster) series, which refers to 256 lithograph which made up the finest collection of art posters and was published in France between 1895 and 1900.

Born in England, Louis Rhead immigrated to the U.S.A. at the age of 24. Along with his poster art and illustrations for a number of prominent magazines, he also illustrated a number of children's books, inculding Robin Hood, The Swiss Family Robinson, Robinson Crusoe, The Deerslayer, Treasure Island, Kidnapped and Heidi.
