Celebrate Darwin 200 and a family trip to the zoo with this vibrant Art Print. John is the resident artist for Darwin 200 and Newquay Zoo and this new poster features "Zooing Around".

"I was invited to a 'Wild Breakfast' event at the zoo. Arriving before 5am in the morning to see the animals waking up was a great experience. The first thing I noticed was the activity in the zoo with torches before we were allowed in as apparently some of the animals like to spend the night working out how to escape ! Mark Norris took us on a tour and the stories he told have informed this large painting. Peacocks dry their tails as dawn breaks, the Red Pandas climb up for a bit of early sun and it is a race between the other animals to see who can warm up and get moving first before another animal has you for breakfast !" John Dyer 2009

ARTIST INFORMATION
John Dyer is one of the UK's most exciting and well known artists. His work is collected internationally and his paintings have been the subject of popular television programmes and a wide range of merchandise. John has worked as Artist in residence for many organisations including Eden Project, Bioversity International, Banrock Station and Darwin200.

"There is an innocence and freshness to John Dyer's art that follows a tradition in Cornwall. Rather than trying to record what he sees, John sets out to capture the 'essence' of his subject. It is his ability to capture the 'essence' of what is important that seems to appeal to those who have shown great vision and originality in their own careers, such as Tim Smit, Alan Titchmarsh, Toyah Willcox and Kim Wilde who are all collectors of the artists paintings."

Brian Stewart . Curator Falmouth Art Gallery
