Atheist believe in Democracy Bumper Sticker by Grimboy
It's not about religious freedom for Atheist, its about controlling that religious freedom. It's not if a million christians voted for something, but only 10,000 Atheists or Agnostics. Its about stopping that million people. The philosophy & edit of Christianity has to do with families, with fidelity, with persona responsibility, things Atheists can't stand. They also claim Christian rule is oppressive, which is why our Founding Fathers were so oppressive, why Europe is so oppressive, whereas atheist regimes such as Cuba, Vietnam, China, and the Soviet Union were so freedom loving and open.... hmmm...

"families, fidelity, persona responsibility." Yes, the knowledge I have and deductive reasoning that I employ when dealing with matters of such grandeur do indeed make me hate the very notions of family, "persona" responsibility, and fidelity. Carl Sagan for example exlaimed on multiple occasions that he would rape his mother had it not been for those pesky christians and their prison system. Einstein wrote bad checks every chance he got, and Thomas Jefferson cheated on his wife with underage boys every Sunday. Oh, wait, no, that was the catholic priest across the street.

I know... we Christians are human and thusly fallable, making mistakes. But I decided to keep it, because I get comments like yours.

i'd hate to live in your world. the constitution LIMITS the power of the govt. it does not limit what folks in states & communities decide or deem as good governance. our constitution believes in a Creator. That Creator is not a man or a few high paid lawyers in your activist group.

Majority doesn't always matter.
If something is unconstitutional or illegal, it doesn't matter what people want. If 99 % of people want separate water fountains then that is too damn bad. The courts say that is illegal. Want prayer in a court room? Too bad. Shut your mouth, you can't do a thing about it because it is unconstitutional. Reply however you'd like, it won't change anything.

Shameful.
This is the worst Straw Man I've ever seen. Why do you feel the need to pretend to be persecuted in a nation where you are a member of the vast majority?

Atheists go to the courts
When Atheists can not persuade Christians in a democratic vote, they go to the courts, contesting it with high powered lawyers. Again and again, having activists Judges reinterpret a 'fluid' constitution. Many arguments done are espoused on the"times are a changing" moto. They are not, only the freedoms of Atheists, coddled in a Christain nation, are.

You are not kidding, I know.
They were not Deists, in Christianity we understand the seperation of Church & State, so did our Founding Fathers, you should look at all 150 of their bios, they were all church members, all were affiliated with one form of Christianity or another. when the treat of tipoli was signed, it was an appeasement to a facist regime of slave raiding Muslims. Jefferson and our ambassador did not want to contest their "christians are dogs" moto and kept religion out of it. Rightfully so. But for you to take a treaty towards a typical islamic regime as a testament to our fathers Deism is typical of both our liberal college upbringing. Which Atheist nation is democratic? Which Islamic nation? Which nations out there are democratic and why? Christianity will be the answer.

You must be kidding...
Christians are never prevented from voting, and your religious group is the majority in America BY A LONG STRETCH. The problem with Christians like you is not that you support families, fidelity and personal responsibility, but that you try to apply your standards for those to everyone else in the country. Stop pretending you're so persecuted, when your religion has been doing all the persecuting for centuries and continues to do so. The founders were not Christians, they were deists, and the Treaty of Tripoli clearly states that we were not formed as a Christian nation. An "atheist regime" cannot exist anymore than a "non-stamp collecting regime", because atheism is simply a rejection of theism. Please help yourself to an education and try not to be so narrow-minded.
