These small geese migrate from Hudson Bay, Canada, to as far as North Carolina - possibly up to 7,000 miles. They eat sea lettuce and other seaweed, an adaptation from their preferred food of eelgrass (which is now in short supply). At 3 years old they choose a mate, and that union lasts for life.
