Blue Daffodil by fantasian_angel
The daffodil, also known as the narcissus, is named after the youth of the same name from Greek mythology. After he spurned the nymph Echo, she prayed to the goddess Venus to punish him for his extreme vanity. As punishment, the goddess of love made him become so obsessed with gazing at his own reflection in a pool of water that he died of starvation and thirst. His soul was sent to the darkest hell, but supposedly Narcissus still stares at his own image in the dark water of the river Styx.
