The Blue Peter Inn nestles between old Cornish cottages in the very popular and picturesque village of Polperro. In old Royal Navy tradition, before the days of modern communications, various coloured flags and pennants were raised aloft to give information and orders. Blue Peter was the name of a flag, white square on blue background, which sent the message to any crew still ashore: 'All aboard! The vessel is about to sail.'
