Bullfight 1 coffee mugs
by taicheFemale Contemporary Art
The “Bull-Fight” series represents Bull Wrestling and were produced as Commissioned Pieces for a private collector living in Turkey. Taiche has managed to capture the movement and grace of the sparring animals in her simple and unique style. In this traditional Turkish spectacle no animals are injured. Appearances of the Bull (also known as Taurus) in mythology and worship are widespread in the ancient world. It is the subject of various cultural and religious incarnations, as well as modern mentions in new age cultures. Taurus is the second astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Taurus. In western astrology, this sign is no longer aligned with the constellation as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. In astrology, Taurus is considered a “feminine”, negative (introvert) sign. [2] It is also considered an earth sign and one of the four fixed signs. Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus (which also rules Libra). Being the second sign of the zodiac, Taurus has been associated with the astrological second house. Individuals born when the Sun was in this sign are considered Taurus individuals. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in Taurus roughly from April 21 to May 20. Under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently there roughly from May 15 to June 15. The Sanskrit name of Taurus in Hindu astrology is Vrishabha. Despite major differences between Chinese astrology and Western astrology, Taurus is considered roughly equivalent with the Snake.
