Edwardian Family Photo Pin
This is my Great-Grandmother and her children in a studio photograph taken around 1910. The image was printed on a postcard and sent to my grandmother who was "in service" in a large house. She began working as a maid when she was just 14 years old and a postcard was the usual way of communicating with her family. On a maid's wages, she would not have been able to afford many postcards to send and, her mother being a widow with young children, would not have been any better off. These photographic postcards were treasured mementos.
