Bath, a city in South-west England, lies in the valley of the River Avon among surrounding hills, and grew around naturally-occurring hot springs where the Romans built baths and a temple, giving it the name Aquae Sulis. The city became a World Heritage Site in 1987, and has a variety of theatres, museums, and other cultural and sporting venues, which have helped to make it a major centre for tourism. Visit our website - Postcards of the Past - Bath - to see some more old postcards of the city.
