Library, New York City c1910 Vintage Custom Ties
A reproduction of a vintage postcard shows the Public Library, New York City c1915. Notice there are no lions at the beginning of the stairs. The New York Public Library lions, sculpted by Edward C. Potter in pink Tennessee marble, have been known by various nicknames since they were placed in front of the Central Research Library (now the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building) in 1911. Although they have no official names, they are commonly known as Patience and Fortitude today. This item is of archival quality, high resolution of 600 ppi, it has been retouched, recolored in areas, cropped and enhanced. This assures that your item will print with the highest quality possible.
