Hi KalisKiko. Thanks for your suggestion.
Gulok and Itak are GENERIC blades of the Tagalog region, utilitarian tools used as weapons during the revolution against Spain. I included them so there will be a Philippine representation and the poster will not look like weapons of Moroland.
Binangon (Visayan) is of similar shape to the Gulok (Tagalog) but the sharp edge is on the crescent side. A Ginunting is another blade form.
My grandfather used a Talibon during the Philippine Revolution in the Island of Negros. Some call it Talibong. No controversy there.
General Juan Araneta is the more famous revolutionary figure in our clan.
I posted this illustration on Viking Sword Forum for correction and comment from forum members for more than a year before I posted it in Zazzle.
Nice poster! THat is something I'd really like to have in my room along with my sword collection. I strongly suggest a correction though. The blade that you named "Gulok" is actually a Binangon or a Ginunting. Your "Talibon" should also be spelled as "Talibong"
I'd be very careful in handling any of these! We seem to have a few new contributors from this fine country lately! Congratulations on your award tempera 70! Nice picture! Very sharp!
