She is married to Dr. Jesus Valverde and together they have three children: Junio, Azul and Aura. Mar, which means sea in spanish, has a degree in Fine Arts and is a middle and high-school art teacher. She is currently working on her PhD in Psychology with a thesis on the effects of Ericksonian hypnosis on the performance of school children.
