Rice planting in rain by Ando, Hiroshige Ukiyoe Bumper Sticker
Rice planting in rain By Ando, Hiroshige.
Fukeiga
Print shows several people working in rice paddies during a rain storm. Born in Edo, Japan, Hiroshiges family name was Tokitaro, but he adopted the name of his mentor as per the custom of the time. His first work was a sketch of a procession done at the age of ten, and earned him the title of a prodigy. In 1828, Hiroshige began his own studio, but eventually moved to Kyoto to produce landscapes. His prints became very popular and emulated upon his return to Edo.
