| Level 3 | £1,000.00 - 4,999.99 | 12% |

For Example...
In a single month, Sarah Seller earned £500 from self-referred sales and another £500 in Associate-referred sales from driving sales of Darryl Designer's products. Sarah also sold £400 of non-referred (not referred by a third party) product in the Zazzle marketplace. She also sold £250 of her own products through referrals from third parties. Assuming both Sarah Seller's and Darryl Designer's products are set to a 20% royalty, Sarah's earnings look like:
| Gross Sales | Type | Royalty Payment | Referral Payment | Qualified Volume Bonus Sales |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| £500 | Self-referred (you drive your own sale) |
£80 | £75 | £400 |
| £500 | Associate-referred (you drive sale of third-party products) |
- | £75 | £400 |
| £400 | Non-referred | £80 | - | £320 |
| £250 | Third-Party-referred (third-party drives sales of your products) |
£40 | - | - |
| Total Earned: | £200 | £150 | £77.40 |
Sarah earned £200 in Royalties and £150 in Referral Fees. Because she has £1,120 of Qualified Volume Bonus Sales, Sarah earned an additional £77.40 in Volume Bonus. Here's how:
| Volume Bonus Levels | Qualified Sales | Bonus % | Bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 1: £0.00 - £99.99 | £100.00 | 0% | £0.00 |
| Level 2: £100.00 - £999.99 | £900.00 | 7% | £63.00 |
| Level 3: £1,000.00 - £4,999.99 | £120.00 | 12% | £14.40 |
| Level 4: £5,000 and above | £0.00 | 17% | £0.00 |
| Total Qualified Sales: | £1,120.00 | Total Earned Bonus: | £77.40 |
Calculation Steps, by Cell:
- Self-referred Royalty = (20% Royalty Rate) x (80% of Gross Sales because of Referral) = (20%) x (£400) = £80
- Self-referred Referral Fee = (15% Associates Rate) x (£500 Gross Sales) = £75
- Self-referred Volume Bonus Qualified Base Sales = (Gross Sales)-(Royalty on Gross Sales) = £500 - £100 = £400
- Associate-referred Referral Fee = (15% Associates Rate) x (£500 Gross Sales) = £75
- Associate-referred Volume Bonus Qualified Base Sales = (Gross Sales)-(Royalty on Gross Sales) = £500 - £100 = £400
- Non-referred Royalty = (20% Royalty Rate) x ( Gross Sales) = (20%) x (£400) = £80
- Non-referred Volume Bonus Qualified Base Sales = (Gross Sales)-(Royalty on Gross Sales) = £400 - £80 = £320
- Third-Party-referred Royalty = (20% Royalty Rate) x (80% of Gross Sales because of Referral) = (20%) x (£250 x 80%) = £40
FAQ:
Q. Who can participate?
A. You can! The Volume Bonus Program is open to any Zazzle seller except affiliates participating in the Zazzle/Google Affiliate program or Zazzle business partners who have separate agreements relating to payment of royalties with Zazzle.
Q. How do I start?
A. Just start selling more! There is no form to fill out, it's automatic. For more tips on how to build your Zazzle sales, check these Advanced Seller Techniques.
Q. What is a Base Sale?
A. Base Sales are the purchase prices you received from customers less the Markup Amount (amounts charged for shipping, handling, packaging, insurance, and sales or similar taxes as well as refunds, credits, and reversals, and the face value of the postage associated with Zazzle Custom Stamps). The Markup Amount means the purchase price multiplied by either the Royalty Rate applicable to the product sale or 10% in the case of the sale of a private product.
Q. If I purchase my own products, does that count?
A. Purchasing your own products does not count toward your volume bonus
Q. When can I find out if I've earned any volume bonuses?
A. We calculate your volume bonuses 30 days after the end of every month.
Q. Are Marketplace and Store sales tracked differently?
A. You will earn volume bonuses on all qualifying Marketplace and Store sales. These will show up as one column on your volume bonus information page.
Q. Why Are Zazzle Custom Stamps treated differently?
A. Zazzle pays the USPS the face value cost of postage on each sheet of stamps sold. We calculate your volume bonuses based on the sale price of a sheet of Zazzle Custom Stamps less the face value cost of postage.
Q. Why don't Referred Sales Count?
A. Referred Sales (those where Zazzle incurs a cost to acquire that sale) do not count towards your volume bonus, but will instead count toward the referrer's volume bonus. However, you can be a referrer yourself by joining the Zazzle Associate program. Then, any sales you refer will earn referral fees that will count toward your volume bonus.
Q. Where can I go to check my volume bonuses?
A. You can view your volume bonus information in the payments section of your MyZazzle page.
Q. I have multiple Zazzle stores. May I combine all my sales together to count towards my volume bonus?
A. Yes! Simply choose one of your stores to be your "master account." Then, login to MyZazzle using that account. On the Volume Bonus page link on the Earnings tab in MyZazzle you can specify all the accounts you wish to count towards your volume bonus. Simply enter the account name and password for each account and they will be linked into your master account. This is a great way to get to a higher volume bonus level faster!
Q. Is there a "Volume Bonus Calculator"?
A. Yes. You can download the:Seller Program Calculator spreadsheet (xls: 58kb)
