The Persian wars took place from 490-479 B.C. in a form of two campaigns against Greece. The armies marched against the Greek states were massive and like nothing the world have ever seen before. The Greeks who were fewer in numbers fought against the Persian imperialistic war and manage to repulse them in many ground and naval battles. The most important battles of the Persian Wars were the Battle of Marathon, the Battle of Thermopylae (Hot gates), the Battle of Plataea, and the Naval Battle of Salamis. Sparta was along with Athens the two most powerful cities in Greece and led the defence against the numerous Persians. Inspired by the history of the Ancient Persian Wars and the heroic fight of the Greeks and especially Spartans we created this design.
