Testudo ibera (Turkish Tortoise or Ibera Greek Tortoise) Tortoises or land turtles are land-dwelling reptiles of the family of Testudinidae, order Testudines. Like their marine cousins, the sea turtles, tortoises are shielded from predators by a shell.
