【とくがわあおい（とくがわよしむね）】徳川葵２３蕊／江戸幕府第８代将軍、徳川吉宗の葵紋／この図案は沼田頼輔著「日本紋章学」に、徳川家歴代の葵紋の図案が掲載されており、そこには『御服所後藤縫殿助書上御紋控書』所載とある。本図案は、これを参考に作図したものである。(2013/3/12作図)／徳川宗家においても、葵紋の蕊は初めはほとんど一定していなかった。文政年間（１８１８～３０）御服所後藤縫殿助から幕府に書き上げた『御紋控書』によってこれを見ると、家康・秀忠・家光の三代は三十三蕊、家綱は十九蕊と二十三蕊、綱吉は二十三蕊と二十七蕊、家宣は三十一蕊と三十五蕊、（原本は家継を欠いている）吉宗は二十三蕊、家重・家治はともに十三蕊を用いた。このころから将軍家の紋章もまた十三蕊に定められたのか、その後はいずれも十三蕊を用いた。（沼田頼輔著「日本紋章学」P４０７）

Looked great and was perfect for my Nana's 99th it arrived super quick so much quicker than sending the original from the other side of the world!
