1907 Italian Battleship Roma

Vintage poster promoting the launch of the Italian battleship ' Roma ' on April 21, 1907. In the foreground the poster depicts a mermaid holding a laurel wreath. In the centre of the wreath is the Latin initialism ' S.P.Q.R.' which translates to "The Senate and People of Rome". In the background the ship is seen moments after its launch. The ' Roma ' served the nation of Italy during the Italo-Turkish War of 1911-12 and World War One from 1915-1918.
