1920s Mad Russian print Medium Gift Bag
Not really a Russian guy, but he looks a lot a like from what I saw in the 1930s movie 'The Scarlet Empress,' which is a really cinematic, really bonkers biopic of Catherine the Great. The gent was actually Monsieur Huberty of the Academie National de Musique et de Danse. The image comes from a 1927 playbill from the troupe's performance of 'Faust.' Note that he's on both sides of the bag, in mirror image. Note also that my shop has stickers that match the bag. Wanna see more old?
