The 38th Infantry Division AKA the "Cyclone Division" is part of the Indiana National Guard. Activated: August 1917. The 38th saw action in World War I & World War II. During the Cold War, the 38th Infantry Division formed part of the Strategic Reserve to support the Active Army in the event of a full scale war with the Soviet Union and her satellites. In 1965, the Division was designated part of the Selected Reserve Force. The Garrison is based in Indianapolis, Indiana
