Arrokoth is the first minor Kuiper Belt object to be imaged. The New Horizons spacecraft flew past it on Jan. 1, 2019. Previously called Ultima Thule, Arrokoth is a very red contact binary. Arrokoth means "sky" in Powhatan and Algonquian.
