The 9th Infantry Division is no longer on active duty, but it was instrumental in the Gulf War, the Vietnam War, and World War II. Particularly in North Africa and Europe, the division was well known for its combat effectiveness and tenacity, as well as its capacity to lead amphibious assaults. Their valour during conflicts such as the Battle of Normandy and their crucial involvement in Operation Torch are attested to the historical chronicles. By using the troops' recognisable shoulder insignia, this design pays tribute to the 9th Infantry Division's long history.
