About This Design

a holly around tile

a holly around tile

According to the records of ceremonies and events of Hiiragi-mon Imperial Court (), the commander of Tsuina wore the fourth golden mask, and his right hand had a sword on his left hand, while his right hand had a sword on his left hand, and his right hand had a sword made of holly. Even at shrines around the country, Tsuina-sai Festival, a ritual to ward off evil spirits, is held at the same time as Setsubun (the Festival of the Dead or Buddhist All Souls' Day), which is a magical event to eliminate evil spirits, and the tradition of this tradition is rare today, because it is a seasonal ritual to remove sardines' heads and holly branches at the door, calling them 'Fuku wa nai' (I am in luck, Oni is out), and sprinkling irimame (I am not in the way). During the middle ages, Hiiragi, a symbol of evil spirits, was invited to a village in the northern part of Saitama Prefecture and enshrined as a native Hiiragi myojin. Hiiragi was also used in the front of the helmet of warriors in the Sengoku period in order to eliminate enemies (By Kosaku ITO, "Monsho Tenji: Kusagi" (The Crests of Heaven and Earth)), and he drew (2015.5.22) based on "Heian Monkan" (The Mirror of the Heian Period).

Really nice image fixed to the tiles in my shower as a background to a soap dish. This was to hide the marks left by a broken soap dish. Just used tile adhesive and white grout. I think it looks good, almost like the drips are falling from the soap dish. No probs. Nice image.

My heart skipped a beat when I found this collection of Art Nouveau designs. I have created a fireplace where there was none. Amazing. The tiles were exactly as depicted
