Maru NiHei (marunihei) crest / The hei crest is a crest that is modeled after a hei. Hei refers to something used when praying to a god. There are various forms of hei, but the one used in the crest is often modeled after a bundle of hei made by sandwiching paper with bamboo. (from "Japanese Crests" by Yoriyoshi Numata) / In "Japanese Crests" edited by Kosaku Ito, this is referred to as "Maru Ni Nusa".
