Abstract in Tape & Letterforms 3 Poster

This piece is constructed entirely of "counters," i.e. the inside shapes of letters, or what is normally seen as negative shapes on the inside of letters. I spent about a year working as the in-house graphic designer for a manufacturing company in Torrance, California, where they produced sign lettering machines and the self-adhesive tape used in the machines. Access to lots of tape and the machines, and some spare time, lead to this series of pieces constructed from the tape. For the print I have cleaned up the image to make the colours more solid, clear, and defined. Self-adhesive tape on poster board, original app. 12" x 18"; c. 1986.

I like the design features on the website. They enable the fitting of a good quality Print to an existing frame. This Print was of excellent quality. I would buy again. One small gripe is that the image was not centred horizontally (about 3mm out) so needed trimming. No great hardship and may have been my fault in the setting-up. Next time, I would choose to set the text below the picture to a smaller font. Overall - Thank You! Looks good in its frame - Just as expected. I had a very expensive Gallery print of this before. It got damaged - hence the replacement. It compares very well.
