Alexandre Cabanel’s Pre-Raphaelite masterpiece “Fallen Angel”. Cabanel was a 19th century French painter of the academic style. He studied art at National School of Fine Arts in Paris and exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1844. He was closely associated with the salon and by rejecting the works of Impressionist like Edouard Manet in 1863 was instrumental in creating the competing Salon of Rejects”
