    Almond Blossoms" is a series of paintings created by Vincent van Gogh in 1888 and 1890, depicting blossoming almond trees in Arles and Saint-Rémy, southern France. For Van Gogh, flowering trees symbolised renewal and hope. He found both aesthetic pleasure and joy in painting these trees. The series shows influences of Impressionism, Divisionism, and Japanese woodcuts. The painting "Almond Blossom" was specifically made to celebrate the birth of his nephew, named after him, the son of his brother Theo and sister-in-law Jo.
