This is The Letter V in The Alphabet of Death by Hans Holbein, originally published in Lyons in 1538 as part of Holbein's acclaimed Dance of Death. the work of Holbein became the ultimate reference. This series of 41 wood engravings was created around 1526 and published 12 years later. Hans Holbeins version of the Dance of Death or Dance Macabre set a new standard and helped change Death in these artworks into a dispenser of justice, denouncing greediness and the abuse of power. makes a great stamp for Halloween related activities.

Rubber stamp itself is good but disappointed with the printing on the wooden top as it is quite illegible.....
(see picture). Although I had my doubts, looked like no spaces between words....the actual rubber stamp is nice and clear...9 year old Grandaughter loves it!
