Amiens is a French municipality, prefecture of the department of Somme in the Hauts-de-France region. The historic capital of Picardy, it is, with its 134,706 inhabitants (the last census in 2019) called Amienois, the main city of the department, the second largest in the region after Lille and the twenty-seventh largest in France. Located within the Paris - London - Brussels triangle, it is the center of the Grand Amienois metropolitan pole, with nearly 400,000 inhabitants.
