This striking photo image is of brightly painted columns in the funerary temple of Medinet Habu, built by the Pharaoh Ramses III, on the west bank of the Nile at Luxor, Egypt. Very few examples of this colorful Egyptian decoration remain, but in this image you can see the gorgeous shades of red, blue, green, turquoise and gold used by the ancient workmen.
