If you cross over the River Nile to the west bank of ancient Thebes you will be able to visit the magnificent funerary temple of Medinet Habu. Built by Pharaoh Ramses III in Egypt's golden New Kingdom, the temple contains these beautiful carved and painted columns. In antiquity, all of Egypt's temples were a riot of glorious color and this striking photo image shows one of the rare surviving examples.
