Ancient Gold and Jade Elephant Key Ring

A jade elephant, or an Indian elephant painted design with gold trim and tusks. In India the elephant represents wisdom. Although, that is not a view limited to only India as they are often considered gentle and wise. The inspiration for the jade series came from a painting of jade art. It was quite interesting in it’s style so I used the jade theme on a few other unique pieces that I felt would lend themselves to it. I loved the elephant because although it is a simple design, the elephant has so much interest and wrinkles within its body.. There is something ancient and majestic about these animals. Although, made to look weathered and worn, the elephant is not from a sculpture but a real animal image.
