Glazed brick relief of an iconic striding lion, built sometime around ~575 BCE under King Nebuchadinezzar II of the Neo-Babylonian Empire. Reliefs like this one decorated the king's palace, but the most famous is likely to be the Ishtar Gate. Good for teachers or ancient art history and archaeology buffs who are into Mesopotamia, Babylon, Iraq, Egyptian and Middle Eastern history, and the rise (and fall) of empires and civilizations.
