Andrew Yang 2020 Presidential Election

Andrew Yang, a Democrat, is a businessman and relative underdog who is running for president in the 2020 election. He is competing against a large number of more well known Democrats, such as Beto, Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Tulsi Gabbard, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and potential favourite candidate, Joe Biden. They're all vying to be the Democratic candidate to take on Donald Trump, who is the incumbent Republican president. Yang hasn't had any high-level political offices, but he did work for the Obama administration. Yang's main platform issue appears to be universal basic income. He believes we should pay $1000 per month to every individual 18 years or older. Benefits already being received, such as food stamps and housing credits, would reduce the $1000 by the amounts already being received from separate programs. Yang is not a favourite but has confirmed that he has qualified to participate in a Democrat primary debate for this presidential election. The first debate is in June 2019.
