It depicts an angel in the form of a beautiful young woman, who is wearing a red tunic over a blue dress. She has flowers in her brunette hair and she is playing a flageolet, which is a historical woodwind instrument, somewhat like a recorder or tin whistle. The angelic figure has wings on her back that are blue with a golden tint. The original artwork was painted by Edward Burne-Jones in 1878.
