Angels Surrounding Virgin and Christ Child - Wilton Diptych Panel
This is a digitally painted reproduction of the inner right panel of the Wilton Diptych, a rare Mediaeval panel painting from England dated c. 1395-1399. It is a tempera painting on Baltic oak which was painted for King Richard II of England.
As Richard kneels, the Christ Child reaches towards him in benediction and also reaches towards the pennant held by an angel, and significantly placed between them."
Note: We've digitally restored this artwork by enhancing the colour and faded areas, and by removing a number of the scratches.
