An antique fortune-telling card postcard featuring “Fortune,” an English engraving from circa 1775. The image shows a blindfolded allegorical figure beside the Wheel of Fortune, holding two bags marked 10,000 and 20,000, while cards and a dice cup rest at her feet. In the classical allegorical manner, she is draped in a wrapped cloth. Reproduced from a historic Fortune Conversation Card held by the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University; original measurements: 90 x 63 mm.
