Hutaba-aoi T-Shirt

The Aoi crest is a crest that is modeled after the leaves or the leaves and flowers of the aoi. Aoi is a plant that belongs to the family Aristolochiaceae, and is either Asarum caulescens or Asarum nipponicum, with the scientific name Asarum caulescens Maxim. Since ancient times, the character '葵' has been used, but this character was used for plants belonging to the family Malvaceae, such as Malva sylvestris, and the family Geraniaceae, such as Geranium nepalense. The small aoi used as a clothing pattern during the Fujiwara period was modeled after this type of plant. Because this character was used early on, it became a preconception and was substituted for Asarum caulescens as well, and eventually the two were confused ("Japanese Crests").
