It's just a way to help see the different scoring areas a little better while you're actually playing darts ... but you can delete the overlay design if you're prefer your photo alone. This photo of mine features light playing on the bottom of a swimming pool. The predominant colour is an aqua blue.

This is so good had this made for an employee who was retiring. Was able to put the staff photo in the middle and even put icons of his job role around the dart board.
It is a proper heavy dart board I am very impressed. Excellent was slightly worried but it is amazing perfectly clear
