Archaeological Museum in Cusco, Peru Poster

"Archaeological Museum in Cusco, Peru" by Catherine Sherman. This archaeological museum is near Qorikancha in Cusco, Peru. The information I found said that this museum contains the ancient foundations of Pachacuti's residence. You can see the dome of Convent of Santo Domingo above Qorikancha (Coricancha, Koricancha or Qoricancha. Qorikancha, which means "The Golden Courtyard," from Quechua quri gold; kancha enclosure), was the most important temple in the Inca Empire. Pachacuti (Pachacutec) Inca Yupanqui (Quechua: Pachakutiq Inka Yupanki) was the ninth Sapa Inca (1418–1471/1472) of the Kingdom of Cusco which he transformed into the Inca Empire (Tawantinsuyu). Most archaeologists now believe that the famous Inca site of Machu Picchu was built as an estate for Pachacuti. In Quechua Pachakutiq means "he who overturns space and time" (though more commonly translated as "earth shaker"), and Yupanki means "with honour". During his reign, Cusco grew from a hamlet into an empire that could compete with, and eventually overtake, the Chimú people. He began an era of conquest that, within three generations, expanded the Inca dominion from the valley of Cusco to nearly the whole of western South America. According to chronicler Garcilaso de la Vega, Pachacuti created the Inti Raymi to celebrate the new year in the Andes of the Southern Hemisphere. Pachacuti is often linked to the origin and expansion of the Inti Sun Cult. You can see part of words carved on the hills beyond: Viva El Peru Glorioso BLM 9 Cusco Cusco, often spelled Cuzco, is a city in southeastern Peru, near the Urubamba Valley of the Andes mountain range. It is the capital of the Cusco Region as well as the Cusco Province. In 2013, the city had a population of 435,114. Located on the eastern end of the Knot of Cuzco, its elevation is around 11,200 feet (3,400 metres). The site was the historic capital of the Inca Empire from the 13th until the 16th-century Spanish conquest. In 1983 Cusco was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It has become a major tourist destination, hosting nearly 2 million visitors a year. The Constitution of Peru designates it as the Historical Capital of Peru. Many people begin their journey to the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu in Cusco.

I like the design features on the website. They enable the fitting of a good quality Print to an existing frame. This Print was of excellent quality. I would buy again. One small gripe is that the image was not centred horizontally (about 3mm out) so needed trimming. No great hardship and may have been my fault in the setting-up. Next time, I would choose to set the text below the picture to a smaller font. Overall - Thank You! Looks good in its frame - Just as expected. I had a very expensive Gallery print of this before. It got damaged - hence the replacement. It compares very well.
