    Watercolor painting of a lake in the mountains of Alaska in autumn. It depicts the landscape of the Brooks Range in the arctic wilderness. As the year turns towards winter the foliage changes to vivid fall colours of red, yellow and orange, softly changing to a deep purple mixing with the blue atmosphere in the distance. It is a plein air sketch created while standing high above Glacier Lake overlooking Big Lake, as the cold evening of the far north was setting in.
